Claimed they were from Delta and were opening a new service center in my area (naming the area associated with my phone number area code but not where I actually live); offering 2 free round trip tickets. When I stayed on the line (while googling the number) they put me on with a 'manager' who started feeding me more BS. They're still trying the scam; hung up on them and blocked the number!
If it's on your cell phone, go to your call log, click whatever button on your phone that gives details. It may give the screen to create a contact but if you scroll, there is the option to block the number. I do this and another call never comes through. End of frustration. I block all scams after first call.
Not all cell phones have that. Which is why there are free call blocking apps. Also, not all people have cell phones, some have landlines. Which is why there are call blockers and call blocking phones.
Got a call from +1 (559) 657-6554 at 9:14 Pacific. Thick Indian accent - said he was from Southwest Airlines offering two free flights to celebrate their Monterey opening. There was a lot of chatter on the background.
He asked me if I was interested and I was bored so I said yes. Then he put me on the line with his "supervisor" who also had a thick accent but was easier to understand.
He said that only couples can claim the tickets and kept asking me if I was married. When I told him I was single and I'm not interested in sharing my personal info, he hung up on me. Weird.
