I received a call from this number today at 5:02pm. 3-15-12. It came in as California Call. No one left a message on my answering machine and I also called the number back and a recording said you have reached a non publishing number. They keep calling back and I would like them stopped from calling my home period. I am wondering how these non working numbers can be calling and how do they get everybodies numbers to call an harassing people in the first place. If it is illegal to do these things then why can't they be stopped from doing people like this? What's the point of being on a no call list and rejecting these calls if they keep calling? Put an end to it now. Thanks so much for your help.
This number calls our house three to four times a day .... They never leave a message and when I call the number it is a non working number .... My concern is so many complaints in regards to this number and yet it is still working .... What the $ell???????
I received this call on my cell phone today, but my 10 year old answered it because he didn't know where I was. Someone with really strong foreign accent asked for me by name (first name only) and my son told him he didn't know where I was right now. For the person above who said they were told there is a case pending against them, that call is always a scam. They will have your info, full name, ssn, etc. They will tell you you are delinquent on a pay day loan or some other nonsense, and they will tell you that if you do not pay something on it today, the police will be at your door tomorrow morning to take you away in handcuffs and they will drive you to court. Our system does not work that way. You are not taken away for an unpaid bill and forced into court in handcuffs, They are lying. They will say they are from a law firm, but won't give you more info. If you ask them to send you documentation that you owe the debt and ask who it is from, they will tell you that they cannot provide you with that until you make arrangements to pay. They will try to scare you with this to get you to give them a credit card number so you can "make a good faith payment" on the account, and they will stop the police from coming. I have had similar calls from other numbers on my cell in the last few years. On this number we are discussing today, I tried to call it back and it gives a fast busy every time.
Techie type people can take calls and route them through other lines, and input fake phone ID numbers to disguise where they are really calling from. Chances are, they aren't even here in the USA. That is why when you call back, it says it is a non-working number. It really is a non-working number. That is why they can still be bugging you. They aren't where our laws can get at them.
