I also got this call today. I do not remember applying for a grant but maybe did when I was consolidating my student loans. The reason I am skeptical is that he required a payment of 1.95 on a visa to process a validation. He also would not tell me the name of the grant other than it was called " US Government Grant". So sketchy.
I got a call this afternoon from this number (strong indian accent) . He said he was with the US Fund Finder and that I have qualified for the government grant which I could use for whatever I wanted and I didn't have to payback. So I asked for his phone number to call him back and he refused to give his number. SCAM!!!
I also get a call from these jerks everyday the funny thing is I am in Canada so I am sure I can get a USA loan! I usually play along with them for awhile and tell them I am really broke and when I tell them I am going to get my visa number I set off a 120 decibel alarm in the phone..........I just hear them swearing away in their language!
