I just received a call from two men. The first telling me he was from microsoft and found that we had downloaded milicious data on our computer that was making it crash. I played along and was transferred to another guy that went by the name of Jack Williams - he had a heavy accent not normally associated with a person by the name of Jack Williams. I asked for him to give me a web site that I could research the problem that he was telling me about and he was not able to. The call was ended. It is a weird scam.

I just got a call from this number as well. Asked for the phone number to call him back and his name "Jack Skettar", and the company name "Star SKK Vision". He was concerned that Windows system wasn't being protected. My mother in law also got a call like this a month or so ago so I had my doubts. Working in Internal Audit, don't ever give personal information over the phone. It is highly unlikely that they would call people to let them know their computer is vulnerable to attacks. I doubt it was legitimate and I do not intend to call him back. It is also possible that if I call him back, I am giving him access to make long distances or other transactions through my phone number!
It was very difficult to make out what he was saying because he had a real think accent.
They contacted my elderly father today to tell him that his computer had been hacked. They told him that they cleaned it out for him for "free" but to protect him for the next 3 years it was going to be over 200.00. This is when my father called me. I asked for their phone number so that I could call and speak to them and was give 559-869-4414. I tried the number over 5 times and it just rings once and then goes into dead air. My father then asked them to call me in which they did. He claimed his name was Roger and stated that he was with Windows Service Central. Told me that they dectected that my fathers computer had been hacked. I asked them how they could detect this and he could not give me a straight answer. He then got his "Sr Tech" with Microsoft on the phone who tried to tell me that I cannot get through because they are very busy. I told him not to call again and we will not give them any information. I contacted local authorities, Dell and Microsoft Safety about this issue. Microsoft told me that they would NEVER contact anyone to tell them that their computer had been hacked and would not ask for any personal information or payment information unless we contact them to buy something. This is a SCAM!
