Caller claimed that they were calling from the Water company and needed to change our Water Meter. When I began to interrogate him, he said that he would remove our address and I told him that I would be reporting this and filing a claim on the Do Not Call government website. He became very defensive indicating that this was a legitimate call. We have never had anyone from the Water company to call us re: change of water meter. I reported this call to the government website. This was a scam!!!!!

Caller said they were calling to schedule appointment to change my water heater. I asked why would I want to change my water heater when it's working perfectly fine. Caller said it's something from the water company & everybody has to change their water heater. I told her that no one from the water company contacted me about this and hung up.
Yes, but I wasn't saying that someone using their number to call you was legitimate . I said that they are a legitimate company that changes water meters for American Water and if they are calling you from that number for that purpose then it is not a scam or anything like that.
