This is a bottom feeding collection agency. They're the 3rd or 4th generation "owners" of debt owed to various credit card companies. They buy for PENNIES on the Dollar (literally) and claim that they can get you a deal. For example, you owe $10,000 on a delinquent account. They'll buy it for as little as $500 bucks and tell YOU that they can get you a break if you pay $5,000 or $6,000 in 3 intallments. That's a nice profit for a debt that VISA or M/C has already WRITTEN OFF, but sell just to cover some of their costs.
HOW DO I KNOW? I had a friend I helped with these scumbags. Got his case tossed out too because these jerks do NOT have the original contracts, or actual PROOF that the debt was incurred by him. They hired an attorney from a nearby town who was at a loss as to why they even bothered. It was actually funny and the attorney and judge actually laughed about how stupid they are.
I just recieved a certified letter from the local magistrate from this company they have a civil complaint in on me for $2,074.15 . i am just sick about this . i wanna call and try to settle this . any advice?
