Private number showed up on the Caller-ID. Called my wife saying he was James Anderson from the IRS letting us know that an arrest warrant was being filed today in federal court and a US Marshall would be coming to my address at (he gave our address correctly). Then he claimed that 2 letters were sent to my address earlier in the year and they were "happily" signed for by, (he correctly gave my son's name and middle initial). "Happily", are your kidding me. When anyone signs for a letter, do you have to put down your current state of mind. What an amateur.
I called the 5712105551 back and asked for James Anderson. He said that that was him. I referenced his earlier call. As he started to reply, the line dropped. I called back and the same voice answered with "IRS, Officer <indestinct>" . I said I needed to speak with James Anderson. He said, hold. The same voice came back on and said he was James Anderson. I knew it was bullshyt when he said my son signed. My son has not lived with us for years. He told me NOT to leave the country. In hind sight, I should have told him that I was leaving for India to kick his a*s. I reported this to the Federal Trade Commission fraud site. Everyone receiving one of these call should report it. Hopefully they can put a stop to it.
This scam was on my phone when i got home from work. Laughable. I love how they say there is a warrant out for my arrest for tax evasion...all that without having ever been audited...lol PLUS, don't you think if there's a warrant out for my arrest i would be served a warrant and not left a voice message by some Indian aor Pakistani call center?..lol
2ND time these people have called - she states her name Jennifer Smith from the investigative division of the IRS and letting us know there is warrant out four our arrest for unpaid taxes...when i questioned who she said she was and where she was calling from she hung up.
