Just received this call- the recording was very ugly and rude and then I called the number and the guy that answered was very ugly and rude. Told him it was a scam and hung up- If the IRS needs to contact me they know how.
Got a call from someone (perhaps a recording) claiming to be from the IRS. Very pushy and used language not typically used in the US
I hung up because I received this type of call before from someone with the same voice. The guy sounds like an Indian guy trying to fake a southern accent.
This idiot calls me telling me that if I don't have my attorney or whatever he was trying to say then I will experience something bad. Did not explain why he called or his reason; sounded like a punjab scam. I kinda want to cuss him out but It could be a phone virus or something.
This is a criminal extortion scam operating out of India. They are making the calls utilizing VOIP and the names of legitimate firms to make it appear the calls are originating from within the US. There is NO "company" or "debt" and you will NOT be arrested. They are harvesting and/or buying consumers' personal identifying information and you need to do whatever you can to protect yourself. This includes: Notifying the FTC: https://www.ftccomplaintassistant.gov/, placing fraud alerts with all three credit bureaus, notifying your bank and employer and letting these criminals know you are aware they are attempting to extort money for a non-existent debt and have alerted the authorities.
Same scam as reported above, if i or my lawyer doesn't call something bad will happen. I was hoping verizon would take a complaint but seems they don't care any longer.
