I received a call from (575)305-9148 and I called the number back. "Officer Anderson" said we hadn't paid taxes since 2012 and we were being prosecuted. I assured him that we had paid our taxes and then he asked if we lived at a past zip code and I said we haven't been there for 3 years. He barked, "This sounds like you're trying to evade the law." I had a feeling from the start that this was a scam. I told him to have a supervisor call me.
My wife received one of these calls, and knowing it was a scam, I called back the number and identified myself as both her spouse AND a law enforcement officer. Made the guy on the other end very nervous. I asked him for the name and address of his office, he refused. I asked for his name. He answered, "Uhhhhhh............Kevin?.........Uhhhhhh.....McAllister??" I asked
Uh Kevin to give me the name of his supervisor, "Uhhhhhh.....Edward, I think?"/ I directed him to connect me to Edward. He hung up. When I call the number back, I get a message saying Verizon can't complete my call. Im gonna contact PD in NM to see if they'll follow up.
I received a voicemail too the auto message saying "you need to get more information about this case filed..." I called it and an Indian Guy answered and stated he was a IRS Officer looking for me and that I was going to be prosecuted" I kept on asking what is this in regard to, he hung up.
