Looks to me like a new way to annoy people unnecessarily. A year ago, these type of phone calls were rare. Now they are commonplace. I do not answer the phone if I don't recognize the number...kind of like the deal with spam...don't ever respond and maybe they will go away. They never leave a message, and after a couple weeks, they stop calling. I just don't get the point of these kind of calls. The FCC must be busy with more important things, as they don't seem to be on the ball with this. Sure wish there was a service like Spamcop for phones.
The number 580-706-1737 keeps calling me and asking for my son. Once they get your number, your doomed. When I asked for a supervisor they rudely hung up on me each time. So I am googling the number and since I work for a law firm trying to track these morons down. When I do, they are in for a rude awakening.
580.706.1737 calls me every day. I don't answer because I can't have the call go toward my minutes and I don't recognize the number. I don't know anyone from Oklahoma. Not even any of my bill payments are to anywhere in Oklahoma. They never leave a message.
This number has called me 5 days in a row saying their some sort of college finder and each time I yell at them to stop. I have blocked this number from calling my phone through my telephone company. I also called verizon and informed them that this "changed or disconnected" number keeps calling me. The lady was very rude, but after telling her I believe it is a scam she said she would pass the info along and took the number.
I've experienced the same thing. They keep calling me and asking for an Alvin Parker. When I try to explain that they have the wrong number and that they need to take me off their list (they call at least 3 times a week), they hang up before I finish my sentence. Sometimes they say they're from a college finder, but other times they say nothing. I guess I could say I am Alvin Parker and see where it goes...
Has anyone been successful at making them stop? I'll try calling Verizon, but this is getting really annoying.
