I did- they said they were from NYS police association or something and asked for donations. I told them no thank you and he immediately said I sounded very nice and I could give starting at 20 or 50 dollars and I immediately hung up and blocked the number.

I got a similer call last year stating it was from some NYS police association. I reported it to BBB and their response was it was probably not legitimate. Also got mail from association to send check to an address that made no sense as it was a politicians office. That is why I no longer answer any call I don't recognize the number. If they need to reach me they need to leave a message. Much safer that way.
