What the caller persisted in was getting me to commit to an amount of money.
The number called my fax line this afternoon while I was away. they must be gluttons for punishment because even if they asked for the right person here, I don't donate to anyone that solicits over the phone on account of bogus charities and fundraising entities that keep the bulk of whatever they raise. If they call again, I'll be tempted to ask them what it would take to put all my phone numbers on their DNC list.
Sure enough they called my fax line again. I almost had to chuckle when the lady said I was "so hard to get hold of" (gee, you just called me on a different number last week). As she made her spiel, I did my best to interrupt her. As I started to say, "I don't donate to anyone over the phone, please put me on your do not call list," she hung up on me partway through.
