Number is from a mail scam called Multi-State Lottery Association. (Fake). They claim you have won a large cash prize and are sending you a real appearing check advance to pay for taxes on the winnings. They want you to pay someone else from your bank account out of your advanced winnings.
When you call the number of this "claims manager" they answer "hello" and won't identify themselves.....until you give them the code name of which scam they are running in the USA from a Canadian phone number.
This is a well known scam that preys on the Elderly and it's the third time this year my 88 year old grandmother has received such mail fraud scams. I have reported this to the FBI previously but they were uninterested even though it is a federal offense to conduct fraud through the U.S. Postal service. There is also no return address on the envelope.... Dead give away.
