This is a SCAM caller. They call saying that APS is about to shut off your service if you don't call a different number which then directs you to someone who instructs you that a team is on their way to shut off your service if you do not go to your local Walgreens or CVS to make an immediate cash payment. After hanging you the phone, called APS and confirmed that our business has a balance of $0 and this is a SCAM. Talking to a few of our neighbors, looks like one business did this and were scammed out of their money. Hope this helps someone else.

Said they were APS and the bill needed paid.  Total SCAM per real APS

This is a scam. Official APS would send physical letters to the billing address first. When they do call, they do not demand money. Go ahead and call the number they give you. Do not volunteer any info to them. Do not say 'Yes'. (That also goes for all potential scam calls). They will ask you to go to a CVS and get a pay card. Why would any official business need something like this when credit/debit cards and checks exist? Why do I ask to you to call them? Because that's more of their time taken up not screwing over anybody else. Call that number every day if you just want to let off some steam. If the number states it has changed to a business located in New York or elsewhere, don't let that stop you. Have a wonderful day! :D

Guess what? You can say "Yes" all you want, nothing will happen. This is an unsubstantiated rumor with no documented proof anyone has been harmed by simply saying "Yes".

The call displayed "APS Residential" as the caller. The phone number is a valid number for the Arizona Public Service, but this particular caller was spoofing the number as a ruse to get people to answer. The ca;ller (a man with a foreign accent-possibly east Asian) was selling solar power systems. I hate when crooks use valid numbers to cover up illicit calls. A similar thing happened recently when I received a call from a local hospital, but the crook was hawking health insurance and was not with the hospital. Why can't something be done to stop these crooks?
