just got another call from 'Joe" from ANDREW FAULT's office. Would not tell me what the call was regarding, said he would find out and call back. I told him to please do that.
A woman called from this number which is in Arizona, USA and said she needs to speak to Gov Miller, but how she gets to hook up a call to Gov in Canada is pretty suspicious.....
Called in (think accent) and asked 'Can I speak with <my first name> and <different last name>?'. When I said my last name is <this> he said sorry for calling wrong number and hung up. Hoping that he wasn't a troll and collecting info about me.
This is what I found on another website. How this scam works......
"There is a scam in which the caller will trick you into saying the word "yes" and then use the recording of you saying "yes" to fraudulently "prove" you desired to sign up for some kind of service.
A few years back, I got a phone call in which a recorded voice asked if [my name] was available. Like an idiot I replied "yes". The recorded voice said "I didn't catch that. Is [my name] available" I replied "yes". When the recording tried a third time, I got annoyed and hung up.
Lo and behold the following month I was signed up for all manner of services through my bank and phone company. Luckily I got them all cancelled and charges reversed. The representatives didn't even hassle me a little about canceling, so I think they knew that someone they contracted with was being sketchy.
I found out about this scam on some website, and since then, when someone asks for me by name on the phone, I respond with the word "speaking."
Since you were talking with what sounded like a live person and they didn't ask you multiple times, I don't know if this is the same thing, but I'd suggest you keep an eye on your utilities and be sure no one added any extras to them."

Received a call on 07/30/14 from phone number (602) 412-4976, he said his name was "Eaton Jones" and he was calling on behalf of Heidi Leonhardt. The person calling had a heavy Indian accent. He asked for my CAO. She was not in so I said please give me your name and number at which point he said that he was Heidi's assistant and he would call back. I made him spell her name and his name. He would not give me anymore information. I told him that he would not get through to the CAO unless he gave me the company and call back number. He said he could not and hung up.

On August 6, 2014, received a similar call from the same man. I asked for information like who are you, what company and a call back number. Again he could not give me a call back number. I told him to never call back and to take us off their call list.

On August 7, 2014, received a call from phone number (424) 781-1627, stated his name was "Sam" (but was the same person that called both days prior). I was not nice. I told him that I asked him to take us off his calling list and that I was going to report them for telephone harassment. He said he was calling on behalf of Heidi Leonhardt of Convene Corp. I told him to transfer Heidi then. He put me on hold and came back a few seconds later stating she stepped away from her desk. He stated he could not give me a call back number. I again told him to never call again or the calls will be reported to the federal government.
