These people called me on my cell phone this afternoon and since it appeared to be from an area from which I receive calls, I answered it. There was a recording that spoke immediately saying, "This is an important call regarding your credit card account..." I hung up at that point because I was sure it was going to be "Carmen" or one of those other names from the scam that's been ongoing forever. I don't discuss any of my credit card accounts with anyone unless I originate the phone call!

Its 9/22 12:43p and this number just called me "We have made several attempts to contact you regarding your credit card interest rate. This is our final notice. Press one to speak to a representative." I pressed one curious to see which credit card company this was. After hold music that I had never heard before from my known exisiting card companies, I was rerouted to a male who continued on the same prompt the previous recording had said. I asked which credit card. He responded, "your credit card." I say "Okay...which one?" He pauses for a moment and says "Capitol One."
I don't have a Capitol One credit card.
"Hmmm okay, I don't have a Capitol One credit card."
Dude promptly hangs up on me.
Im reporting this number to the do not call list; I've checked my credit report and there are no new open accounts; and I will be calling Capitol One to notify them of these scammers.
