Received unwanted call today at noon on Sunday. It sounded as if "Joe" was an autotron or computer generated voice. Something about did you know that every day police etc., at that point I knew it was a scam and hung up. We are on the donotcall.gov list but it doesn't matter to scammers.
Received a call from 607-203-5573 and when I answered they hung up so I dialed them back to find out who was calling my home. The person (male) identified the organization as A.F.P.O. and that is what appeared on my caller i.d. He said that he was soliciting a donation for police officers and asked if I would donate. I said if they send me something in the mail I would donate so then he switched me to a lady who said, I just want to confirm your name and mailing address and she had the correct information. She asked me how much I intended to donate and I said $20. After I hung up I googled A.F.P.O. and found nothing, then I googled the phone number and it brought me here. After reading all the comments about this number and the fact that this is a scam, I immediately called them back and told them to remove my phone number from their list. The man who answered said he would remove my number.
Hey, I'm an OLD COOT and I don't like getting these calls anymore than you do. I work full time too, some OLD COOTS still have to because they can't afford to retire. Retire and die? NFW man, I can still run circles around you pal! LOL!!!
