This is [***] so there's no why I can get my money back. I just graduated and I thought I was receiving another scholarship to help on my new journey of college. We should not only have the freedom to right this message but also get our money back. They basically took my deposit money for my dorm. 850.00 dollars gone just like that.
Scam involving a Grant. They report being from US bank of New York. They are connected to another number who reports to be with the IRS, (in a follow up call) registering your grant. Beware!!!!!! Second number is 786-383-0416
An unknown number called me and said I was chosen for a free gov grant in the amount of $8700. To register my claim call Adrian Hayes at 727-213-5733. As he went through his pitch he could tell I was not feeling this. Then Mr Hayes says the bank will call me in ten mins so remain by the phone, which I did. I am then called by a Cathy Green who claims to be a bank manager in New York. Her number 607-258-3953. She asures me everything is going fine. Then she slips in, to receive my funds I must pay $600 to some company called PPI for insurance to move the money from NY to my state. Informing me that the $600 will be added to my grant money so I have nothing to lose. Now my grant will be $9300 instead of the $8700 I was promised originally. I didn't pay the $600, instead I googled her bank number an here it is.... the scam. Long story short, you should never have to pay for any "free" money that is granted to you. I truely hope with this info they can be caught.
