We should not only have the freedom to right this message but also get our money back. They basically took my deposit money for my dorm. 850.00 dollars gone just like that.

As a "college student" you should know that the only way to get funds for college is to apply using the FAFSA website. You should also know that those funds, if awarded, are sent directly to the school you listed. This makes sure that the funds are actually used for educational purposes and provides them with additional certification that you are who you claimed to be in the application.
This is a common grant/loan scam. Been around for years. You should have been aware of it. Your money is gone.
Didn't you do any research before you paid a complete stranger money? Do you normally pay out money to complete strangers?
Count this as a life lesson. There is no grant or loan. No legitimate government agency cold calls you and tells you you have a grant. No legitimate lender cold calls you and offers you a loan.
And absolutely never pay for anything with an untraceable financial instrument. If you receive calls offering you things, ignore them. Almost always a scam.
