I have received the same email and many others threatening me with legal action. Number 1 if it were legitimate they would not email you. Number 2 why are they asking for your mailing address - they should have that on file if it was a legitimate debt collection agency. Number 3 they would not call or email they would MAIL the information! Number 4 they are not going to call or email saying they are sending someone either to your place of employment or home to arrest you. This is a civil matter not a criminal matter! If it is legitimate the original company you owe a debt to will go through a legal process and once a court of law has found in their favor you are then served papers by a legal process server to appear in court. If you do not show for court your employer is then contacted regarding garnishment of wages and you are legally contacted by your employer.
There is a process people and these [***] buy old debt and try to collect on it!!!
I received same one over and over. I called and it is a scam, they would not give documents or any information until the money was paid. I called Advance Cash America, they claimed that is who loan was from; I gave the co. information to verify if in system ( I knew I would not be). They have no idea who this company is and it is big time scam. I hope no one falls for the illegal threat through email and threat from the person on the other end if they call. IT IS ILLEGAL AND DO NOT GIVE OUT THE ADDRESS OF WHERE YOU LIVE. I plan to block this number and call the proper authorities in regard to this. BEWARE.
