Received similar call offering to lower my interest rates. He identified they were the VISA card you use most often with an amount larger than $3000. I told him right up front that I would be hesitant to give him any information since they called me and I don't know who they might be. He tried to query my balance on the card (after earlier identifying about three VISA card companies that they might be....Bank of America, Wells Fargo, Chase), and then insisted you must know generally what your balance is currently. I rebutted that he should know and I don't even know what card you're referring to.... hum? Awful fishy. He hung up.
man called offering to lower my interest rate and wanted me to confirm some information. I asked him what card he was referring to and he named various banks that they deal with. After I questioned him some more, he stated that he had all of my information but needed me to confirm my identity. Although I don't own an American Express, I told him that I had one. He then threw out 4 numbers which was supposed to be the first 4 digits of the card. I then revealed that I don't have an American Express and that this was obviously a scam. He then called me a stupid b***h and hung up. BEWARE!!!!
