Someone from this number called asking for my husband. Because there was that telemarketing "short pause" after I answered, I figured someone was trying to sell something, so I hung up. Don't know what the person wanted.
This number comes across sometimes more than once per day. They ask for my husband (who are line is through) then cannot and will not tell me who is calling for him. They never leave a message, or allow me to take down a phone number and name for my husband to call them back. When I reverse called them, the line went to an automated voice speaking due to high call volume and wait for next available agent. I waited for five minutes and still no one picked up the line. We have limited minutes on our landline and I'm not using them to wait longer.
I have asked repeatedly for them to stop calling on this line because it is our emergency line, but they still continue calling. (This number is only given to three members of our family and is unlisted)
The research that I have done indicates that this is either AMVETS or a telemarketer working for AMVETS. This number is spoofed as the call is not originating from Stoughton, WI, but from some other location. Block it and be done with it.
