These people call me almost daily to "reduce your credit card debt"and "this is your last chance". I don't HAVE a credit card so I know it's a scam. Despite that I have actually stayed on the line to talk to a representative three times and asked them to take me off their list, they simply hang up on me each time and do not even reply to my request. Wish I knew how to make this stop!

I have kept a record of every call from "credit card services", the time and date and have written down, or told them I was recording and recorded several calls. One guy, on the recording, tells me that they don't have to abide by the National Do Not Call list and said they can bother me as often as they want.  What they will realize soon is that I will take them to court with loads of evidence.  I have asked them to take me off their call list and that we are on the DNC list more than 26 times.  Guess what that fine is going to look like and how much the court will reward me.  Will their lawyers fly across the country from Florida to the West Coast?  I think not.  These people are brazen crooks and they will find out what their boldness will cost them.

Really strange thing has been happening.  Each morning before I go to work, I call the Bank of America 1-800 number for my credit card balance.  I call between 530-6AM.  For the past month, about once or twice a week, as soon as my call went through, I would get a call waiting beep and it would be this telemarketer number calling while my call to BOA was in progress.

I finally figured it out this morning. I had noticed that the ring tone changed when I called BOA, indicating that the call was being forwarded.  I have had the BOA number, 1-800-626-2556 in my phone for about 10 years.  When I checked the back of my credit card, it had a different 1-800 number to call for customer service. BOA must changed their number recently and done away with 1-800-626-2556, but some slick telemarketer picked it up. They forwarded that number to the new BOA number so the caller would stay on the line, but this gave them the opportunity to call at a time when they knew the recipient was on the line, even if it was 530AM.

Needless to say, I have changed the BOA number in my phone to the new number, and if you use Bank of America, don't call 1-800-626-2556.  This was a new telemarketer tactic to me, and hopefully it won't catch anyone else and annoy them with these silly calls.
