I just received a call from this number. After a short ring it went to voicemail. It left a recording saying that I was eligible to lower my interest rate to 6% and this offer was only available for a short time. It asked me to press 1 to be transferred to a representative so that I could take advantage of this offer.
Bye.
Just received call from this number on my cell phone, which is listed on the national "do not call" listing. I answered but heard nothing. I hung up. I then blocked this number.
Interestingly, I received another call from a different number 276-235-4689 on my cell phone earlier this morning, with recorded message that went something like this: "hello, this is (female name), calling from card services (didn't say what bank) about your credit card. Your card account is not in trouble. I am calling to let you know that you can lower your interest rates. " ... I hung up.
I figure maybe these 2 spam callers are related, since I blocked the 1st caller's number, figured perhaps they switched lines, and called me using their 2nd number.
I got several calls from this number or some similar in the past month. this last time I answered, hit 1 and when the guy came on line asked to speak to a supervisor or manager. He was polite and asked me to hold and then hung up. it is definitely a scam. I think they are hoping someone will go in and give their card info out to the guy to be protected. Do Not Tell Him Anything!!
I wish these A-holes will get a real job and stop scamming people. Make sure your VM on your cell does not say your full name. I had to go into DMA.org to also stop those mailers and scammers who said we won a Flight ticket for 2 - US airlines... (no such company). Their name is close to US airways name.....so don't fall for it.
