The number you are getting a call from is a ghost number. It all gets routed out of a business called Auto/Vehicle Processing Department in Santa Anna Ca. They are a complete rip off. Their main number used to be 1-800-356-8170. It may have changed.
I answered a call from this number and it was regarding my vehicle warranty. She said they wanted to extend the warranty that has expired - until I pointed out that my warranty hasn't actually expired. They're not with the manufacturer or anything. They're just a private company that probably preys on people who don't realize how bad of a deal it would be to extend your warranty through them.
purchased a car in 2013 and my warranty from the dealership is up this year. Been getting fear mail from some company claiming to give me a great deal on an extention of said warranty (jokes on them I already have an extention from the dealer when I purchased the car and I am covered till 55,000 miles or 10 years)
These guys are trying to scam you into purchasing some lame insurance for your repairs on the car, don't fall for it and tell them that the car is sold or they simply have the wrong number.
