Received a call from 6104657875 number saying I could qualify for rebates from Pennsylvania. The caller also mentioned getting lower electric rates (price/kilowatt) from PPL. It seems like a scam.
Second time they've called. No message. Since they've used the same phone number twice now, I think I'll program my call forwarding to send their calls to PPL. :)
Just got a tip from a TV News show. Don't answer these calls if you don't have to - Don't press number #1 to be removed from 'their' list it only shows that your number is active and they'll sell or give it to someone else.
If you have to answer and don't like what you hear - just hang up. Period - just hang up. Don't engage in conversation. Just answer your phone 'Hello' don't give any information to a caller before they ID themselves.
Sorry Miss Manners' but it just isn't a good idea anymore to answer your phone with; This is the Smith residence how may I help you. I think there is a new site now for trying to stop robo calls. I think you can access that info off of WGAL.com - I haven't gone there yet. As most often I just don't answer calls that I don't recognize. Even those ID'd as Private if they want they can leave a message. If they don't leave a message then it wasn't important. Your phone is a tool for your convenience not anyone else or everyone else.
