I lodged a complaint with the Pennsylvania Attorney General and they actually said they cant DO anything about this call...WTF? is EVERYONE laying back and letting these annoying calls continue? Im close to removing my dam phone alltogether. Why did anyone ever concept such idiotic sceme called a do not call list if its not even effective? and I agree who in their right mind would even want a dodge durango.
Im going to keep pushing the issue untill I get results.
Most scam calls like this come from 3rd world countries where scamming dumb Americans is not a crime and the police don't cooperate with US law enforcement.
The Do Not Call List is a list of people who do not want to receive telemarketing calls. US law requires that all telemarketers purchase the list and not call anyone on the list. Legitmate telemarketers obey that law. It has nearly eliminated calls from photography studios and timeshare sales pests. For a scammer its just one more law to break.
You are absolutely correct. The DNC is just "A List". Collected and maintained by the FTC. No mechanical call blocker, doesn't screen any calls for anyone, no army of paid employees to sit and monitor everyone's incoming calls. It's just a simple list, based upon the honor system, and works very well for what it was created and intended to do. It doesn't work worth a darn for all of those things that some think it should be doing. Thank you for your post.
