The +1-613-480- exchange belongs to ISP Telecom, which is a legitimate telephone company in the business of providing numbers wholesale to Internet telephone companies (voice-over-IP). Most of those numbers are being used as intended, but with the Internet as the other end of the connection, the potential for abuse by unscrupulous end users is obvious... the caller could be anywhere (not necessarily in Belleville, not necessarily even in Canada) and these usually have to be followed through a stack of resellers to find the Internet address of the actual end user, if it can be found. Much like your e-mail box runneth over with unsolicited garbage, your telephone is next...
Got a call last night-8:52 pm but didn't answer it,as unknown area code. Found out it was the Belleville area.I called this morning, but got the Bell recording that it was not in service.
Calls my hearing-impaired mother CONSTANTLY. I was under the impression recorded auto-call-bots were illegal in Canada and the US (especially those that start their recording off with "Your number has now been registered to ..." as soon as you pick up and answer what you assume is a legitimate call. (I didn't bother listening past the "registered to" comment since the last time I did and pressed 1 to be taken off the list it just increased the frequency in which these bozos call)...
I'd LOVE to find out who is behind this number and hunt them down... perhaps rig my own auto-caller to harass them as often as they harass everyone else.
