I didn't trust that the caller was really representing World Vision or the Canadian Council for the Blind. Asked for $299 for a laptop for a blind student (as part of a campaign), unusually slippery and aggressive for a non-profit telephone solicitor.
A woman asked for my mom and when I told her she wasn't available the lady said she'd call back. I asked her where she was calling from, and she said Manitoba (which is clearly not true), so I asked her why she was calling and she said for a thank you call and she'd call back. I told her not to.
Same! some man called and asked if i was Mrs Firlotte, which is strange because my boyfriends last name is Firlotte but we're not married.. and then asked when he'd be back and said he'd call again.. who's number is this??
