total scam no government agency would make calls like this I called Revenue Canada and they told me they get lots of calls from people about these scam phone calls...They told me No government agency in Canada contacts like this ...There first contact is by mail I am self employed and mail is the only contact i ever get from the government
Received a very abusive call saying the RCMP were coming to haul us away in handcuffs and taking our property and also that we were being sued and rudely demanded we call them back to find out why.... Feeling very violated now.
Total scam. No taxing agency in North America will cold call you with those sorts of threats. Usually tax liabilities are civil matters. No criminal justice system involved.
Calls are coming from Indian and Pakistani Income Tax scammers. We get them in the US all the time. Ignore and block the calls. Report them to your local authorities.
Just got a recorded message from this number. The message was cut off and I only heard - urgent that you call us and something about property. But since I'm a renter, I wasn't too worried about it.
They called in and in a "canned" message introduced themselves as Canada Revenue Agency and threaten an investigation. I called back and heard a message that it was CRA and to leave a message.
