I got a call from this number as well. The guy who had a strong accent said he was calling from Hydro-Quebec and was asking all kind of questions wanting to know what kind of heating system we have.. sounded really fishy I told him I'm not answering his questions and hung up.
Same thing. He says he his from Quebec Hydro, asks if I am the owner of the adress ( he has my adress) then says he wants to warn me about " voltage peaks" . When I asked him howcome Quebec Hydro calls from 613 ( Ottawa) , he answered that Hydro`s servers were in Ontario...I then told him that the servers were actually right in Montreal, he hang up!
Call in French. Caller had an accent. Caller knew what city I resided in. Said he was from Hydro-Quebec emergency tech services. I was very suspiscious, since the call was from Ottawa. I made him repeat 3 times who he was, said HQ, it's an emergency... So I said fine... Asked me what type of heating system we had, then I argued who cares, what does this have to do with an emergency?!?! Asked a whole bunch of other questions that I argued the validity, like what the f*** is it going to change in terms of an electrical emergency if my residence is split-level or not?! This is irrelevant, and all this is available anyways in my client file with Hydro-Quebec... Asked to speak to a supervisor, and I was put on hold, then the caller came back and said that he was gone for his break. So I told him to call me back when he came back from his break, if he had the guts to argue with me some more! Emergency my [***]!
Anyways, sent a note to Hydro-Quebec saying some twits were using their names to fraud people? Not sure what you'd fraud about though with a heating system?
