The caller says "congratulations, you have been selected to win a $99 credit on you next trip on Air Canada, please press 9 to continue". First of all, the number is my local number in Barrhaven, Ontario, and I know of no Air Canada office here in my area. Secondly, the caller ID has no name at all --- blank. If it were really Air Canada (or any real Travel Agencies) calling me, the business name should be proudly displaced on the caller ID.
So I am suspicious and hung up immediately without dialing 9. Then I immediately call back and a Bell Telephone recording says, "Your call cannot be proceeded as dialed. Please consult the telephone directory and call the operator for assistance. This is a recording."
Therefore, this telephone call is a scam, even though it sounds like it is from a well known company.
