The problem is-- I have answered and politely declined several times, considering I am a recent double graduate and swimming in student loan debt and still searching for job in this lovely economy, and politely ask to be removed from the call list, and I STILL get calls. At least the loan companies wait six months before asking for our money. OSU called asking for donations even before I received my degree in the mail. This is not about the students calling and asking for money, it's about the sloppy higher ups and administration that will sacrifice their alumni (many of whom have already invested tens or even hundreds of thousands of dollars into student tuition and can barely rub two dimes together to show for it) for any nickle or dime available. The fourth time I get a call from this number, after answering three times and asking to be taken off of the list, I'm probably going to sound a little rude, or at least irritated...
Its also a problem when they call you again and again from the different fundraising groups when you are already giving. Plus there are too many fundraising areas for the foundation to really handle. I just give to the University Foundation and they can move it where they want. I may get annoyed, but I won't ever be rude to the student.....I just can't do that to young working buckeyes. I think the best thing is to just contact the staff for foundation relations. Their names, numbers and email are listed on the foundation site.
