The call rang in at 3:04 PM on call waiting while I was already on the phone with another call. Whoever it was did not bother to leave a voice mail. The area code 614 suggests it was from Columbus, Ohio. My guess is that the call would probably have been a solicitation to switch car insurance company if I had been able to take the call.
The caller ID indicated a gibberish of letters and numbers, so this was almost certainly a nuisance call.
Robocalls from some schemers saying they are raising funds for the Ohio Highway Patrol. First, Ohioans pay taxes for such protection, so there's a red flag. Plus, these jokers use several numbers suggesting they are in Columbus (Ohio's state capital) and somehow official or legitimate, as well as several more exchanges. Examples: 614-401-XXXX, 614-407-XXXX and 614-412-XXXX, among many others. Block 'em all.
