They call me 15 - 20 times a day so I turned the table on them....I started calling them and not saying nothing, they would hang up so I would call them back and not say anything and after about the 10th call I started laughing when they answered. after about another 10 calls I started just saying it's me again, they would apologize for the inconvenience and I then would say I am too. They then told me they could put me on the do not call list and I told them that maybe they want me to put them on the do not call list. Then I would immediately call them back and just say it's me again. I could then hear them ask their supervisor if they should just hang up on me. After about 50 phone calls from me to them within an hour I stopped. I'm curious if they will call me again. If they do I'm going to start all over again. Free long distance on a magic Jack phone is a great defense. What is even funnier is this number is a Grand Rapids Michigan number but you talk to people from many different states. I have had a lot of fun doing this and I think I will try it with even more telemarketers. What a way to spend an evening with a case of beer. This is Direct Energy. I've told them that I'm not interested but that hasn't stopped them or even slowed their calls. When I see their number pop up on my cell, I just let it go into voicemail although they NEVER leave a message. I really wanted to see just how many times they would call me in a day, over the past two weeks the record is 16 times; gospel truth. I stopped counting when the total number topped 100 (it's WELL beyond that now) but still it continues. Amazing!
I got calls a few times a day as well...just called the number back and someone answered, but he mumbled so I couldn't make out the company name. I am now going to call them multiple times per day on my work number and hang up every time they answer, and see how they like it!!
I just called the number back and actually was able to talk to someone. It was Direct Energy and he claimed they are removing my number. I will post again if I get a call after the 24 hour wait period that he said it took for it to go through.
