Likely using some sort of demon dialer program that dials in numerical order. My cell is unlisted, kept very strictly private, and on the Do Not Call list but I still get scam calls. Scammers are going down a numerical list; i.e., 123-456-7890, 123-456-7891, and so on. It's that simple.
I received a call from this number as well. They claim they are from the Grant a Wish Foundation (not Make a Wish) seeking donations for children. When I told him I already donate to other children's organizations and that I was not interested, he continued to push me and said to me several times "What, you don't want to help other children?" Again, I told him I was already donating to Make a Wish and St Judes and he continued to push. I told him not to call me again. This organization seems suspicious to me and would be careful about pledging over the phone or sending in donations. Reputable charitable organizations do not harass a caller for a pledge unless they are suspect. Be careful of the Benevolent Organizations as many of them are scams as well
Disturbing phone call from this representative from Grant A Wish (not to be mistaken with Make A Wish). Was pushing hard for a pledge and would not take "No" for an answer. I was suspicious of him and felt like I was being harassed by this caller and he would not hang up when I told him several times I was not interested. They should be reported for harassment and need to abide by new rules put in place to protect consumers from telemarketing scams.
Annoying person named Josh called asking for my husband by a name none of his friends use. Right away I knew it was some sort of sales call. Wouldn't give me his company name, just said it was Grand Rapids. I used *69 and got the number that way.
