I got an automated call left on my digital answering service yesterday. Funny, THEIR computer is trying to tell MY computer that it shouldn't listen the the message if it is not who they are looking for. DUH. Anyway, I listened to the whole message (no choice, can't delete it until the end anyway. It is, indeed from a Minnesota collection agency, Allied Collection Group. The funny thing is...this message should have been sent to the people that live in the apartment just above me! They moved here from Minnesota 5 months ago. They are a group of horrible, nasty individuals and I'm not going to go knocking on their door to deliver messages to them from collection agencies...
AND
this is not the first time this has happened. A few years ago I started getting the same messages for the PREVIOUS family that lived upstairs from another collection agency! I believe the agencies acquire an address and then look up any phone number associated with that address. Seems like I'm the only one in the building with a # listed in the GD phone book!
