Yep, they call here too. It's an automated voice recording that starts off with "important information about your credit card debt" -- that's funny, I don't use credit cards. Anyway, check with your telephone company about which services they offer to help manage unwanted calls. I blocked them from calling my number again.
Called and left no message. I am in Canada so they are calling all over the place. Thank you to everyone who participates in this site. It is a wonderful tool.
it would be great if someone could tell all of us how to stop these annoying calls.... if I don't answer, it wastes message time on my answering machine too.
There should be a law that these companies have to provide an un-subscribe or block call from them as well.
they just called me - but I did not answer. This number is either being spoofed or is one of a series being used to perpetuate various scams. I imagine a big warehouse type room with peon cretins in it manning phones and being assigned various scams for the day.... credit card interest scam one day, fake vacation scam the next day, troll for real live phone numbers and time people home the next day, etc, etc. This number hasn't been in use for very long because there are only a few complaints on it.
It is an area code from Michigan but that doesn't mean the the criminals are based there. They can spoof a number and be in some other part of the continent. I've had a deluge of calls from spammers over the past few days. I block one, and then another shows up a few hours later. Likely some thwarted [***] fuucking criminal's idea of payback to me for daring not to answer. Well, who said they were intelligent, anyway?
