Someone called from that number at 12:21 EST June 06 2014.
Me: Hi
Caller: Can I speak with Takara Gomez?
Me: Who's calling?
Caller: Are you Takara Gomez? I wanna speak with the person I've mentioned.
Me: Yeah - I'm Takara - what do you want? (I'm not takara)
Caller: ... .... You're Takara Gomez?
Me: Sure - what do you want?
Caller: Is your Social Security Number blah blah-7489?
Called my mother's phone which is completely unrelated to mine (different carriers, different account holders). Asked about me and a random name of someone we've never heard of. Sounds like a scam to me. DON'T GIVE OUT YOUR INFORMATION TO THESE CROOKS!!!!
The call came from 617-207-5319, to my wife's mobile. The caller knew her name and tried to get her to correct the social security number that "is on file in the system..." (obvious phishing attempt). My wife is very ill. These "people"are SCUM! I WILL HUNT THEM DOWN AND THEY WILL BE NO MORE!
Call the credit bureaus and have them put a fraud alert on her name ASAP. If these jerks knew her name and had enough of the digits in her SSN, then there's no telling what else they knew about her.
So this looks like it's been going on for years. It might not even be this number cause I was told that they can trick the caller ID now to have it show an alias number. Thing is, nothing gets done unless we all submit complaints at the Do Not Call Registry. They said they can't do anything unless they get enough complaints about a number. These sights are good for us to find out which numbers are bad but we also have to file complaints or nothing will get done. Google 'do not call registry complaint' and fill them out. It's quick and easy.
