Despite having a chronic medical condition I was unaware of at the time, I had two medical insurers for a little over two years (one being a Medicare Advantage Plan from being disabled from asthma, but still being able to work at times; the other was from work). Due to medical providers billing dual insurance companies in the illegal manner according to Medicare policy (despite my giving BOTH insurance cards at each and any medical visit I went to), I recently started receiving debt collector calls as initiated by Blue Shield of California. Blue Shield of California refuses to coordinate paying the providers with the Medicare Advantage Plan I have. The current medical condition I have I now know is an incurable, progressive disease. It is situated in my brain and therefore also affects my ability to do many things besides general thinking. Not being able to work anymore, I cannot live off of the Social Security Disability income I get monthly. No one is more aware of this catastrophe than Blue Shield of California and despite my attempts to work with them (certified, return receipt letters after phone calls didn't work), they unethically and likely very illegally have called in the bulldog debt collectors. While I am not able to correct a bad situation that Blue Shield and the medical providers caused, I try to at least stop the harrassment from debt collectors when I have the energy to do so. I hope that anyone who receives debt collection calls from companies like this Boston, Massachusetts one, will be in a better place to fight them. Best of Luck.
I just got a call from this number. It went to voice mail. It was a recorded message. It is from Ticket To Work which is a program to help people on SSI get a job while receiving there Social Security Disability. I am on SSI but have no idea why they called me about this.
