My poor grandmother, who is hard of hearing, is getting spam called by this number at least 2-3 times a week, sometimes more than once a day. She doesn't have any problems like this with other numbers, and she has not recently switched to a new phone company. She *is* listed in the phonebook.
The caller does not always respond when the call is answered, and often when they do they claim to be from the "CPPA". I googled CPPA and the closest thing I got to it was the Center for Public Policy and Administration from UMASS Amherst, but I'm pretty certain that after all these calls claiming to be someone new every time, it's probably not UMass related.
It's also the Cleveland Police Patrolman's Association...so if they're impersonating an officer, they'll be in deep sh*t.
I filed a complaint with the FTC. Hopefully something will be done.
I blame comcast! I do not even have my new number memorized but yet I get 12 calls a day from all over the US. Comcast claims innocence. Call Comcast and scream even if you do not have a comcast phone they are the problem!
