Even if you did owe them, and you probably don't, it's not a criminal offense to owe money, and you don't get arrested. A lawsuit would be civil, and you don't get arrested. There is no such thing as debtors prison, and you don't get arrested. And, if you have done something REALLY BAD and were to be arrested, they wouldn't call you first. These people are crooks. Don't let 'em scare you.
Just contact whoever the card is from, and get them to cancel it, even if you have to admit you were scammed. Good luck. SSNs don't get "investigated." You know, I don't know which is worse...the calls themselves, or the insult to people's intelligence that they're launching. What a bunch of tools.
