Call came through from this number just now, I called back and they asked for my adult daughter. They did not identify who they were. Once I told them I was not she, they hung up on me.
Me too. It is a suspect phone number because I don't think there is a 603 extension in the 617 area code. Whatever. If I don't know you, don't bother calling because I'm not answering. Annoying.
Person with spanish accent asking for personal info regarding my Directv acct,if I didn't give it this private matter couldn't be discussed. My acct has my home phone number and i was called on my cell. Two red flags for this scammer
Called me on behalf of some outsourcing company in regard to my Verizon account. They did have my name and wanted personal information in order to verify my account. Smelled like a scam, so I refused to give up my SSN and address. They said they'd contact me by mail. No problem!
Calls and hangs up! The do not leave a message. I see from some of the notes above they say Verizon. I do not have Verizon and if they are looking for my mother, she died 7 years ago and they were notified. Getting no money from her or me!!
I've not given my real phone number (which I don't even remember) in over 5 years and its reasons like this. Rather I give out my Google number.
Called up the number and they didn't identify themselves. Rather they immediately asked for me. I said I was returning a call and wanted to know who they were. They refused to ID themselves and asked if I was me.
I hung up.
And thanks to Google Voice all they'll hear now when calling me is, "The number you've dialed is unavailable. Please check the number and try your call again"
Of course I still have the number. But I can block telemarketers such as this. Or creditors ... Not that I' a dead beat, but I was a victim of ID theft, which is ironic because I don't believe in credit & don't care what my score is. I use cash and that works just fine for me.
Called me back before blocking saying they were going to mail me something. Would only get sent back as return to sending assuming if I could even accept mail here.
For those of you not so smart, its best you not call them back.
