This number called our business today (Saturday) at 0943 hours. Caller ID said, "Cambridge MA" so I was suspicious. I let it go to the recorder. A long, long, long message was left by some automated system called "Talk Local" claiming there was "a consumer" in [a nearby town] who need "a heating equipment or air conditioning technician" and yadda, yadda, yadda. The recording kept insisting that the call was free, which I thought was a strange thing to claim. Then I researched Talk Local and found out, according to Wikipedia, "When a business accepts, they pay to be connected to the consumer by phone (via Voice over IP) to schedule the desired service." Yeah. Sounds like the call the consumer made was free but WE were going to be charged for the alleged lead.

And once again these yahoos called our business with their annoying message. I had chosen last time to not be notified again but they went and called us anyway. So, I blocked my call info and called the number back. I got a message asking me to hold for the next live operator. Big surprise, no live person ever picked up. I was told to leave a message instead, so I did. I told them to fix their freakin' system because I had previously opted out of receiving their calls. My gut is telling me it's a scam. If it was legitimate, they'd stop calling a business that isn't interested and there would have been someone there answering the phone.
