illinois police call scam! must have been a recorded voice although it sounded like a real person. i said i do not donate to police departments over the phone and the voice just kept talking. let me make this clear! i know for a FACT! police departments are not allowed to and will never solicit donations over the phone! IT IS AGAINST THE LAW!!!!!
The DNCR cannot "stop" anything. Honest telemarketers reference it to remain compliant with the Telemarketing Sales Rule. Commercial fundraisers need not do the same.
Please cite the law as I turn you over to some FTC reading ....

I received this call a few moments ago and I spoke to a live person who said I could donate money with my credit card for charity. When I asked questions he became very angry and began using profanity at me. He told me he would show me how to respect him. I'm so afraid I'm contacting local authorities. Something has to be done to these people.
Just received a call from this number. Caller ID said Illinois Police. They asked for money and when I said I was out of work they quickly hung up on me. No good-bye just hung-up.
