First time I post something in craig's list and this person gave me the same story as all of you! Luckily I asked friends and they said to google the phone number! Thank you for everyone's story... This was extremely helpful!
I got the text from the same number with a name of Caroline and the same routine as above. I asked her if she lived in my area. She said "No".
My reply: 'Damn, it is a good area. Why don't you move here? This will avoid all the transportation charges. Think about it !!".. She dared not to reply back.
Literally exactly the same exchange with this moron as described above. Trying to sell a bed on Craigslist and "Caroline" keeps insisting I send my email address for PayPal and that she'll "Arrange for a private Hauler for the pickup of the item" since she doesn't live here. Willing to pay full price for my bed, having never seen it, doesn't live here, wont give her information for me to send an invoice via PayPal for a paper trail, and doesn't reply to texts for hours. Call the number and its setup through an app called "TxtMe". Not a legit phone number. Just a scam. Don't trust it.
SCAMMER - wants to buy my items off Craigslist without seeing them and will Paypal the money to me. My ad says no Paypal. No one buys used furniture sight unseen.
Yeah, this exact same thing happened to me when I was trying to sell my sofa. Emailed me first asking for my number for immediate conversation and then texted me. "No, I don't need to see it in person. I am happy with its current condition. You should set up a paypal account." Lol, no.
