Caller identified herself as "Tori", then told my wife "I glad you picked up, I was tired of talking to your answering machine". Reported them again to National Do Not Call registry; will prosecute them for harassment if they call again, as they have been told not to call us before.
'Was expecting a call, and answered my land line without checking the caller ID. Female said name was Toni (I think) and said she was glad not to get "another answering machine". Caller asked if she could send me information and an envelope to contribute to "Women's Cancer Fund" (ID said Women's Cancer). I explained I already give to cancer research, because my mother died of cancer. She went right on, asking if I couldn't give "just $20"... I said, I just said No -- didn't you realize that? She insisted this money was needed so badly... I said, more firmly, "I have now said No two times and now I would like for you to remove my number from your call list!" She hung up, without agreeing to remove my name from their list. I searched for the phone number and that brought me here as well as another website where I saw a report very similar to what I have written here -- especially re: caller being glad not to get another answering machine.
Same as above...said she was from the Women's Cancer Center and I told her at least 3 times I didn't have any money to send and she just came back again ....don't guess she understands when you say NO so I just hung up on her and blocked her number.
Same as the others - it's not a real person, it's some kind of interactive voice response - very easy to trip up by asking questions and eventually the call ends.
