Thank you to everyone that has posted a their experience with this caller. I didn't recognize the number and let it go to voicemail. It was an automated voice message stating they are the courthouse. What courthouse? When in doubt I always check 800notes.com.
I have received several auto-dialed recordings from this number telling me that they are the IRS and they need me to call them.
The Indian person who answered the returned call claimed he was from the crime investigation unit of the IRS and claimed that I was being investigated for tax fraud for 2004-2009. I was told that I am in violation of federal tax laws in violation of the IRS and that federal tax code 63318 enables the government to seize all of our property, bank accounts, cars, by placing a federal lien against us. He claimed that I owe them $22,000 and that it would be submitted to the courts. In the meantime, someone else, also Indian, had joined the call, without any indication as to he he was or why he was involved. After yelling at them on speakerphone because they kept interrupting me, one of them told me that he was very, very tired and was going to take his break. I told him to ... and was immediately disconnected.
Thank heavens for Google and the people who post on this forum! I just want to say thank you, and add this phone number to the long list of scammers!
Same here. They've called my cell phone at least 4 times today and when I called them back to tell them that they were full of it and not to call me again the guy hung up on me.
Same here - received at leat 8 calls from this # today. After the 4th message. I called back and asked them to take my # off their list. The guy got very snippy so I told him to stop calling or I would give this # to my cousin who is an IRS agent. The next 4 messages from this # then switched from being an IRS issue to some type of law suit. I also called T-mobIle to report it and to see if there were any international or crazy usage charges on my account today because of this ... there wasn't anything yet but they did note this on my account so that if something occurs, I won't be liable for the costs.
I told him to get a real job and try actually working for money.. and I'm sorry for him that he's just such a joke.. He called back from the same number a few min later, tried to deepen his voice and tell me he's from the sheriff's office. I just had to laugh at that point.
