This must be a new scam number - I called it back and the number is "not in service."

For my home number, I have the new Panasonic phone that blocks 250 numbers. Awesome!
For my business line, I have the Digitone Call Blocker (thru Amazon). This unique little device blocks individual numbers and can block ENTIRE AREA CODES…very handy for those scam callers that use various numbers in the same area codes. Currently, I have 34 area codes blocked along with numerous telemarketer/scam telephone numbers.
As an added bonus, both the Digitone blocker and the Panasonic phone block 'OUT OF AREA' & 'PRIVATE' numbers. When a blocked call comes in, my phones do not even ring.
Between my home and business lines (which I have had for nearly 19 years) I used to get 3-5 telemarketer calls each day. Now days, I get 1-2 calls a week - and most all of them are blocked.
got a weird call this morning, asking for my husband - sounded like a telemarketer because who else would slaughter the name of the person they were calling. When I asked what this was about, I get a rude hang-up.
So I called back and after many rings, recording says to leave a message. SCAM, right???

So glad to read Panasonic now has a phone which will block more than 30 numbers. Does the Panasonic system give the callers with blocked numbers any indication that their call will go through if they 'unblock' their number? Something like 'this caller does not accept calls from blocked numbers'. Good info from your post! Thanks.
