original call from Jason Simple from 626 817 9547 giving me a case number and telling me to call Thomas Espinoza at 626 600 8776. A few minutes later Thomas Espinoza called and left voicemail as I did not answer. Just a couple of minutes later I got a call from a private number which I let go to voicemail. The message was from Jason Simple!. He was now looking for Brenda Mitchell. I am not Brenda Mitchell and I don't know anyone by that name. Oddly enough she has the same case number as me. The only conclusion I can come to is SCAM!

The Internet Crime Complaint Center has received many complaints from victims of payday loan telephone collection scams. Callers claim the victim is delinquent in a payday loan and must repay the loan to avoid legal consequences. The callers purport to be representatives of the FBI, Federal Legislative Department, various law firms, or other legitimate-sounding agencies. They claim to be collecting debts for companies such as United Cash Advance, U.S. Cash Advance, U.S. Cash Net, and other Internet check-cashing services.
According to complaints received from the public, the callers have accurate data about victims, including Social Security numbers, dates of birth, addresses, employer information, bank account numbers, and the names and telephone numbers of relatives and friends. How the fraudsters obtained the personal information varies, but in some cases victims have reported they completed online applications for other loans or credit cards before the calls started.
The fraudsters relentlessly call the victim’s home, cell phone, and place of employment. They refuse to provide any details about the alleged payday loans and become abusive when questioned. The callers have threatened victims with legal actions, arrests, and, in some cases, physical violence if they do not pay. In many cases, the callers harass victims’ relatives, friends, and employers.
Wow! Cheesy stock photos in a web site that looks as if it were designed by a 6th-grader (even with the help of "Starfield Technologies; Website Builder 7.0.5350" – LOL). The spelling errors are the least of it.
Naturally, the domain registration is... well, I'm sure the regulars here were thinking "Domains by Proxy" from the first. And they were correct. Nothing like showing you have something to hide right from the start by anonymizing your domain registration, eh?
The phone number on the site matches to one for this thread, which would suggest we've found our perps. The physical address on their web site is – and once again the regulars will have guessed before I even type it – a UPS Store.
That site couldn't scream "scam" any louder if it used a bullhorn.
ROFL! A UPS drop.. does not surprise me at all Sir B.. no wonder he doesn't want to give out any info.. Wonder if they are even registered with the state and licensed..
And I agree on that web site. Does not look very professional at all. But as we all know, a web site, nor a email, fax or phone call make it all real or legitimate! Wouldn't be the first one who placed a site up trying to look legit when its a extortion scam op ran by professional deadbeat extortion scammers to lazy to actually work.
